Abstract

The synthesis and properties of graft copolymers using macromonomers were investigated. Macromonomers were synthesized by the reaction of polymers such as poly(ethylene glycol), poly(ε-caprolactone) and β-Cyclodextrin with 2-isocyanatoethyl methacrylate (IEM) . The copolymerization between these macromonomers was studied besides that of macromonomers with vinyl monomers such as styrene and methyl methacrylate. Wettability, adsorption of a slight amount of organic compound dissolved in water, and the inclusion ability of a fluorescence dye were examined as the properties of the graft copolymers.
