Abstract

This paper aims to grasp the indirect effects of underground space development in central area on the urban structure. At first, based on the past data, the system dynamics(SD)model consisting of three sectors (population, land use, and trip sector) is built, and then the indirect effects of underground space development is estimated by the proposed SD model. As a result, it is made clear that the SD model is applicable to estimate the indirect effects of underground space development and also that the underground space development should be effective for the vitalization of the urban central area.
