本研究は、青年の健康の自己管理や、健康的なライフスタイル形成への指針を得ることをねらいとして、青年用疲労自覚症状尺度の構成概念妥当性を検討することを目的とした。調査対象として、東京都内のA、B大学ならびに中・四国のC、D大学の2,500人の大学生を選定した。確証的因子分析の結果、「集中思考困難」「だるさ」「意欲低下」「活力低下」「ねむけ」「身体違和感」の6つの下位因子を1次因子、「疲労自覚症状」を2次因子とする因子構造モデルの適合度は概ね許容水準を満たすものであった （GFI=0.862、AGFI=0.832、RMSEA=0.082）。さらに青年用疲労自覚症状尺度の各領域と性、年齢、ならびに現在の健康状態との間に理論的に整合する関連性が認められた。また、尺度全体及び下位領域ごとにみたChronbachのα信頼性係数はいずれも高い値を示していた。これらの結果は、青年用疲労自覚症状尺度の構成概念妥当性と信頼性を裏付けるものである。今後、前記尺度を使用して、青年期における生活出来事や生活習慣、精神的健康度等との関連から、疲労の発生や回復のプロセスについて解明していくことが課題といえる。The purpose of this study was to examine a construct validity of the subjective fatigue scale for young adults (SFS-Y). Data were collected from 2, 500 college students (aged 18-24 yrs) attending four different colleges and universities in Tokyo, Chugoku and Shikoku area. Confirmatory factor analysis supported the six-factor structure of the SFS-Y. Although subjects' sex and age were significantly related to the domains of perceived fatigue, the effects were very weak. Moreover, moderate relationships between domains of the SFS-Y and its construct-related criterion "Health status" were found. These results are consistent with previous work and the oretically approved. In addition, Chronbach's alphas calculated for the full scale and subscales demonstrated high internal-consistency reliability. These findings imply that the SFS-Y satisfies the assumption of construct validity and reliability. Using the SFS-Y, further research is required to examine the causes and process of fatigue among young adults for establishing their healthier life-style and improving their mental health.
