IDENTプロトコルはアプリケーションレベルでのユーザ認証の手段として広く用いられている．しかしリモートアクセス環境では，ユーザの計算機がネットワーク管理者の管理外にあり，IDENTサーバが返すユーザ名が信頼できないために，IDENTプロトコルをそのまま適用することができない．本論文では，IDENT代理サーバを導入し，ユーザの計算機に代わってネットワーク接続時の認証情報を返すことによりアプリケーションレベルでのユーザ認証を行う方法を提案する．また，本方法を実装した試作システムの試験運用および性能測定の結果からその有効性を示す．
IDENT protocol is one of the most popular user identification methodson application layer. However, this protocol has not been used onremote access environment because an IDENT server on user's computeris not managed by the network manager and thus it is not trusted. Inthis paper, we propose a user identification method available even onremote access environment, by introducing an IDENT proxy whichresponds the user name authenticated on dial-up connection. Then, weshow the usefulness of the method by empirical results of a trialsystem.
