Abstract

本研究では，通常のペンと紙を用いて手描きを支援するシステムdePENdを提案する．本システムはボールペンのペン先の強磁性に着目した．机内部の磁石の位置をXYステージとコンピュータで制御することで，筆記時のペンの動きを制御する．身近な道具を介した触覚的なガイドにより，ユーザの描画スキルの向上が期待される．アプリケーションとして，図形や直線の自動的な描画や，アレンジの追加，通信機能やコピーアンドペーストなどの機能を実装した．本稿では，システムの基本設計と実装およびアプリケーション，技術評価，今後の展望について述べる．

This paper presents dePENd, a novel interactive system that assists sketching using regular pens and paper. Our system utilizes the ferromagnetic feature of the metal tip of a regular ballpoint pen. The computer controlling the X and Y positions of the magnet under the surface of the table provides entirely new drawing experiences. Haptic guides using regular tools are expected for rising drawing skills for users. For example, users can draw diagrams and pictures, add an arrangement, use a communication function and copy and re-draw function. In this paper, we describe the detail of design and implementations of the device along with applications, technical evaluation and future prospects.
