Abstract

This study investigated the characteristics of the childcare in Yamagata prefecture and the whole country from the 15th year of Taisyo to the postwar period of Showa. Accordingly, we found out that the increase rate of number of nursery school, or day-care centers both in Yamagata prefecture and the whole country, while the decrease rate of number of kindergartens in those era. Peculiarity, in Yamagata prefecture, the day-care centers which has function of integration of kindergarten and nursery systems appeared those era, introduced the Certified child Garden posterity.
