抄録

I investigated the dietary habits and the everyday life of the aged by using questionnaires in Kagoshima City, Kagoshima Prefecture, in June and July, 1999. T he results were as follows : (1) They managed their everyday life active, with doing household chores, gardaning, or farming. They took care for their health. A half of them had the anxiety for the future, especially for their health. (2) They ate meals regularly and used 15 to 30 minutes . They were careful about their health and food and nutrition. They tended to eat a lot of vegetables, lightly-seasoned food, eat regularly and eat seaweed. They feed on rice. They bought already cooked food or instant food none, once or twice a month, or once or twice a week. They seldom exchanged food or vegetables with their neighbors. (3) Most of them were satisfied with their dietary habits. They tasted their meals good, enjoyed meals, didn't eat out, had a good appetite, ate in a good atmosphere, had no food preferences, and waited eagerly for meals.
