Abstract

application/pdf

INOUE Tetsujiro considered that Yang-Ming learning was related to national moral theory in the Meiji period. This is based on a thought the Meiji Restoration came from Yang-Ming learning. It made the spirit of patriots in the end of the Edo period and resisted the Zhu Xi learning of Neo-Confucianism by the previous regime. He thought that it supported the present state by the same reason. However, it was still a problem that Yang-Ming learning had a connection to socialism and destruct the social order for him. On the other side, ISHIZAKI Togoku regarded the connection as an important point. He mentioned that it was not an idea against the regime but for a social reform. TAKASE Takejiro had a position between them. Although he was a follower to Inoue, he stated that the thought related to socialism was acceptable like MIYAKE Setsurei did. Therefore, He insisted that Yang-Ming learning was not anti-national and even save the people. For instance, Inoue criticized the rebellion of Osio and Takase praised his behavior for the poor. He changed Yang-Ming learning to a moderate thought.
