The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation of load and integrated EMG(iEMG) in half-squat and bench-press. Subjects were five male physical education students in Chyukyo University. Each subject performed the half-squat and bench-press with the loads of 100, 80, 60, 40, and 20% of one-repetition-maximum load. EMGs were recorded from rectus m. of thigh, vastusm., medial, vastus m., lateral, biceps m. of thigh, gastrocnemius m, tibial m., anterior, and erector m. of spine for the half-squat ; triceps m. of arm, biceps m. of arm, deltoid m., pectoral m., greater, erector m. of spine, and teres major m. for the bench-press. iEMGs were calculated for each muscle. The correlation coefficients and regression lines were calculated in %load versus %iEMG in each muscle. In half-squat and bench-press, significant correlations were observed in %load versus %iEMG for all muscles. The slope of the regression lines, however, were different among muscles in spite of the same motion.
