In 1930, the series "Jazz Literature of The World Big City" was published with Shunyodo. Kawabata Yasunari's novel "The Scarlet Gang of Asakusa" is placed at the beginning of the first volume "Modern Tokio Dance" of this series. This text has been criticized by the author Kawabata himself, but it is a text which gives hints to study. In this paper, firstly, I will introduce the "World Metropolitan Jazz Literature" and clarify the characteristics of this series. Next, I would like to examine the text "The Scarlet Gang of Asakusa" by comparing the other translations from this series.
