Description

The purpose of this research is to enhance a range available for the multiplication skills of two digits in 'Vedic Mathematics' of India, and to generalize it to all the multiplication of two digits. In conclusion, a range available for four kinds of multiplication skills fulfilled some specific requirements could be generalized to all the multiplication of two digits. In addition, I clarified the concept of another multiplication skill generalized to all the multiplication of two digits. I have reason to expect that the conclusion of this research is meaningful for mathematics education. We can develop new teaching materials to construct the concepts of mathematics and to facilitate the number sense by using the idea of enhancing, generalizing and so on, because I have shown the processes of clarifying, enhancing and generalizing the concept of multiplication skills of two digits in 'Vedic Mathematics' of India.
