抄録

1. Green land landscape (ryokuchi) can be classified into following three categories: (1) Natural Green land…namely…forest, woodland and grassland on mountain and hill, and under the control of Ministry of Forest and Environment (2) Established Green land…namely…city park, cemetery, sports ground, river park, and under the control of Ministry of Building (3) Agricultural (Productive) Green land…namely…farmland in urbanized area and under the control of Ministry of Agriculture. 2. In Edo period (1603-1868) Edo (old name of Tokyo) with the population of one million had many Green land spaces as daimyo (feudal lord) estates, and forests of Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines. 3. Meiji new governments have endeavored to create city parks, the most famous one of which is Hibiya park near to Tokyo Central Station. 4. Remaining agricultural green land (Productive Green Land) in built-up area is precious reserve space for future city parks or public land uses. 5. Multiple use of land must be endeavored to create green land landscape in buildings, roads, parking places etc.
