看護学生のアルコール依存症に対する「イメージ」を把握し,主因法による因子分析によりイメージの構造を探索した。そして,イメージの構成因子と知識,自尊感情の関連を探索した。看護学生はアルコール依存症に対し,『古典的アル中イメージ,の弱まり』『厳しい引きこもり』『揺れていて拠り所の無さ』『緩慢な複雑さ』4つに因子で構成されるイメージをもっていた。看護学生のアルコール依存症に関する知識は概ね正確であるが,例えば「アル中」について修正する余地がある。学生は全体的に自尊感情が低く,自尊感情の得点が低くなるほど,学生がもつアルコール依存症イメージ第4因子『緩慢な複雑さ』因子得点が高くなる,弱い相関を認めた。正しい知識と『アル中』イメージが統合されず乖離すると推測される。『アル中』はアルコール依存症の俗称で同じ現象であることとともに,アルコール依存症を知識面で修正する余地があることの示唆を得た。看護者は依存症の心理特性である「否認」を理解し患者の「否認」を適切に処理することが,患者の病の克服につながることを,看護学生はまず認識を強くすることが大切と考える。

In this study, we look at how the student nurses' image of alcohol dependence is created by factor analysis. Student nurses' image of alcohol dependence results from four factors : weakening old images, extreme self-seclusion, unsteadiness, and unrecognizable complexity. For the most part, student nurses' knowledge of alcohol dependence is right. Though there are still some assumption that need to be corrected. Generally, student nurses have low self-esteem. From our research, there seems to be a correlation between an increased feeling of unrecognizable complexity and lower self-esteem. From this investigation, we argue that technical knowledge is not always capable of modifying the commonly held image of the 'alcoholic', the general name for someone who is alcohol dependent, but conclude that technical knowledge is necessary to enable people to overcome alcohol dependence. Finally, we argue that it is essential for student nurses to recognize that they can help patients get over their illness by managing their particular psychological and spiritual needs and by stopping their denial of the syndrome.
