従来の性役割発達研究では, ステレオタイプの知識の獲得に重点が置かれていたが, 本研究では, そのステレオタイプをどう評価するか, という態度を扱った。本研究の目的は, 1.子どもの性役割態度の発達を認知的, 感情的側面から明らかにし, 2.性役割態度の発達に関連する要因を検討することである。542名の小学2年生, 4年生, 6年生を対象に, 質問調査を実施した結果, 1)2年生から6年生の間, 性役割ステレオタイプに対する認知的態度, 感情的態度は年齢とともに柔軟になった。2)4年生と6年生について, 男子は, 視聴するTV番組の数, 父親の家事参加が認知的態度の柔軟性と関連し, 親のしつけが感情的態度の柔軟性に関連していた。女子は, 親が男性的な職業を期待することが認知的, 感情的態度の柔軟性に関連していた。\\r\\\\n\\r\\\\nResearch on the development of gender roles has focused narrowly on the acquisition of knowledge about the roles. The present study investigated children's attitudes as evaluative aspects of their stereotypes of gender roles. The objectives of the research were(a)to examine the development of attitudes toward gender roles from both cognitive and emotional points of view, and(b)to examine the effect of environmental factors on these attitudes in elementary school children in the second, fourth, and sixth grades(total N=542). The results indicated that(1)the flexibility of children's attitudes increased with age, and(2)the frequency of watching television, and fathers'participation in homework were correlated with boys'cognitive attitudes, and the pa\\nrental rearing measures were correlated with boys'emotional attitudes. For the girls who participated in this study, parents'expectations about jobs that have traditionally been men's work were correlated with the girls'cognitive and emotional attitudes.
