Abstract This paper is concerned with a method for constructing the learning automata which selects the action so as to keep gradually oneself favorable under the interaction of the unknown environment. Simple and functional circuits mainly composed of the threshold logic elements are used for realizing such the stochastic automaton with learning function. For two unknown environments, the action of this automaton was experimentally investigated, and the performance such as adaptability was satisfactorily obtained. Consequently, it became clear that the learning automata can be simply constructed in the form of the fixed structure and possess a good adaptability.
