Abstract

Recently, image reconstruction method called Adaptive Iterative Statistical Reconstruction (ASIR) has been developed. This reconstruction algorithm makes it possible to reduce image noise on CT images. However, the role of ASIR in head CT angiography was never reported to date, to our knowledge. Therefore, it is clinical useful to evaluate the image quality of head CT angiography reconstructed using ASIR algorithm. In this study, we have devised the new method for evaluate the sharpness of CT images using "Toeplitz matrix" and quantitatively assessed the sharpness of artery contours on CT angiography reconstructed using ASIR algorithm. The contrast resolution of CT angiography with ASIR reconstruction was also evaluated.
