Description

A large number of studies on elastic buckling of bars have been done since Leonhard Euler proposed originally the critical load or Euler load. However, for practical application, it has become the theme of research to determine the buckling loads and the buckled shapes of a compressed bar by using the end conditions. Thus all the end conditions have been assumed to be given before commencing with the calculation. It is the purpose of this paper to point out that some of the end conditions should be analytitically obtained through the calculation.
