抄録

This paper discusses changes in nomadic culture brought about by settlement policies. Although settlement of nomads is based on policies to solve both the environment problems in nomadic areas as well as poverty issues amongst the nomadic people, it is the impact of the implementation of the policies that causes changes, not only economic, in nomadic life and culture. These changes, not only the loss of the dynamic nomadic lifestyle brought about settlement, can also be seen in food culture, livestock management style, and moving away from livestock-centred lifestyles. In short, the continued existence of nomadic culture is brought into question.
