稲尾岳は大隅半島南部に位置し、西日本最大の照葉樹林である。「森林生態系保護地域」「自然環境保全地域」「天然記念物」に指定されている。最高標高は枯木岳（959m）である。 今回の調査で、76科163種（シダ植物11科21種、裸子植物5科5種、被子植物双子葉55科127種、被子植物単子葉5科10種）の植物を観察した。 特記すべき植物として、モミ、ホウチャクソウ、ヒュウガヒロハノテンナンショウがある。 調査日：2016年5月4日
