Abstract

type:text

The present study was to investigate the use of "Two-person Zero-sum Game" theory for attacking strategy in volley ball. The study was mainly focused on "Linear Programming (LP)", which is a mathematical formula, applied to attacking. Those are :1) the way of planning an optimal strategy between attacking and defending (blocking or receiving), and 2) predicting the advantages and disadvantages in this game. Based on an opinion, the various pure strategies were categorized into attacking and defending. Followings are the pure strategies in each category; For Attacking a1:Right side spike around the net. a2:Spike at the center around the net. a3:Left side spike around the net. a4:Back Attack For Defending These pure strategies ware correspond to six defense rotation faces, they were b1 to b6. Based on these strategies, this game is defined as a"Matrix Game". In this study ,the matrix game is (4,6) matrix, which is calculated with "Simplex Formula".
