Experiments were undertaken to investigate changes in blood sugar and blood lactate concentrations after the exhaustive exercise load for 10 minutes on the treatmill in both untrained and mildly trained groups. In addition, a comparative study of differences of these blood components between the mildly trained group and the moderately trained group (the latter was in our paper)was made. 555 young male mice were divided into unttrained and trained groups and the trained group was mildly loaded on the treadmill for 10 weeks at the rate of 5 days per week. Results obtained were as follows. 1) In both untrained and moderately trained groups, blood sugar concentration significantly decreased, reaching the lowest measured values immediately after the exercise load, but thereafter it recovered to the resting level in 30 minutes in the former and in 15 minutes in the latter. Also the ratio of decrease in blood sugar concentration was much smaller in the mildly trained group than in the untrained group, but showed no significant difference between the mildly and moderately trained groups. 2) In both untrained and mildly trained groups, blood lactate concentration significantly increased, reaching the highest measured values immediately after the exercise load, but thereafter it recovered to the resting level in 30 minutes. Also the ratio of increase in blood lactate concentration was much smaller in the mildly trained group than in both untrained and moderately trained groups.
