説明

In his lifetime, Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu (1658〜1714) was bestowed sixteen residences by the 5th Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi (remain; 1680〜1709 / 1646〜1709). Among these residences, typical existences were Kandabashi (神田橋) one and Tokiwabashi (常盤橋) one. Kandabashi lies midway between Edo-castle (江戸城) and Tokiwabashi. By the way, there is the Bank of Japan near Tokiwabashi, that is to say, Kandabashi is next to Tokiwabashi. "Bashi (橋)" means a bridge over the moat surrounded Edo-castle. These district was point-blank range from the castle, especially "Honmaru" (本丸). "Honmaru" means the main enclosure of the castle, Tsunayoshi living there. As the most favorite retainer of Tsunayoshi, Yoshiyasu was bestowed Kandabashi and Tokiwabashi residences, that occupied an advantageous position. Therefore Tsunayoshi visited his retainer's residence 58 times in his lifetime. Every time, Yanagisawa clan gave a warm reception to their guest. As the regulation of a social status, Tsunayoshi nearly could not leave Castle, so he derived pleasure from these calls. Originally Kandabashi residence's place was erected Kandagoten (神田御殿), that is Kanda palace, where was used as the palace of his Tatebayashi (館林; Gunma prefec-ture) premier's era. Tatebayashi premier was the predecessor position of Tsunayoshi. On this honorable vacant lot, Yoshiyasu built the "Onarigoten"(御成御殿). "Onari-goten" means Shogunユs visitation palace. In this paper, I would like to consider the historical relations between Kandabashi and Tokiwabashi residences, after refer to the reversion to 6th Shogun Tokugawa Ienobu (家宣: remain; 1709〜1702 / 1662〜1712). That is the summary of the paper.
