抄録

From the latter half of the 1940s to the first half of the 1950s, In Sakurada Elementary school, it had been researched practically the way of education based on the empiricism. The plans created based on this attempt were widely known as“Sakurada Plan”, and it has been positioned as one of the signature efforts in the curriculum remodeling movement in Japan.  In this paper, by analyzing the movie“Kodomo Graph”that introduces the activities of the newspaper club in Sakurada elementary school, it is found that the newspaper club members brought their experiences in social studies across the grades. And it is also found that the newspaper club functioned as a place to explore the two directions of social studies learning in a multilayered way.
