Description

In order to make clear the frictional behavior which is related to cutting forces, tool wear, surface roughness of veneer and so on, a more fundamental research under actual cutting conditions was carried out. In the present paper, the frictional characteristics on the rake face were made clear, based on the results of the cutting stress distributions on the interface between the tool and the veneer in veneer cutting without a pressure bar.
