Description
A new species of the fossil murine rodent of the genus Rattus is described by comparing with the living endemic species of Diplothrix legata on the islands of Okinawa and Amamioshima. The murine fossil specimens aged as the later part of Pleistocene were excavated from the Pinza-Ave cave, the Miyako Island of the Ryukyu Archipelago, Japan in 1983.
