Description
type:text
This paper treats not only the results of the geological studies but the geological studies method for students. The Ishiyama Limestone (in a brodad sense), Ibi District, Gifu Prefecture is situated about 10 km in the north-east direction of the Akasaka Limestone which is a famous Fusulinecean locality in the world. The'Ishiyama Limestone (in a broad sense) is divided into two limestone blocks by a fault line which runs north-west to south-east. The limestone block of the southwestern part is called the Ishiyama Limestone (in a narrow sense) and the limestone of the northeastern part is the Hakusan Limestone. These limestones consist of massive limestone and very little shale or sandstone layer. The Hakusan Limestone yields Yabeina globosa and Y. Inouei. These Fusulinids have thick spirotheca and thick septa. Considering this respect, the Hakusan Limestone belongs to the Akasaka type limestone group. In order to, investigate a wider exposed limestone area, we need to determine some main routes for geological survey, and subsequently plan to expand the area of geological survey.
