Having been unable to stand on her feet, a girl, 1 year 4 months old, was diagnozed as a typically serious case of rickets on clinical examinations. Vitamin D stock therapy, however, failed to bring about any improvement. Therefore, in addition to the con. secutive administration of massive doses of vitamin D, parotin was injected, 1 mg/kg, twice weekly. Shortly after the institution of this therapy, improvement in the roentgenogram of the bone occurred. Continuation of this therapy for a long period has resulted in normalization of serum phosphorus and alkaline phosphatase levels and improvement in general conditions.
