特にD(ドロゲン区), P(パーライト区), L(ソイラック区), SPL(砂+パーライト+ソイラック区)などが良い成績を示した.5 折曲強度についてはPM(パーライト+ピートモス区), L, Dなどの区は茎葉とも良い成績を示した.

The comparative effects of eight soil conditioners, applied to prevent the deterioration of soil conditions due to heavy traffic, on the growth and resistance to top injury of lawn grass were studied during 1962-1963. The results obtained were as follows: 1. Addition of any soil conditioners resulted in a high production of roots, particularly on the plots of P2 (rich in perlite), S2 (rich in sand), SPL (sand+perlite+Soiluck, one of the commercial conditioners), whereas no favorable effect of cokes added to soil (C2 plot) was found, showing poor growth of lawns. 2. Both foliage and root growth of lawns, grown in an amended soil at a depth of 25cm as compared to 17cm plot were very well within the range of mixing proportion of any conditioners used. 3. Adding any soil conditioners to the soil resulted in a greater resistance of lawns to friction than did the control. 4. Withthe friction resistance, in general, erect stems of lawns were more resistant than did their foliage. In this experiment, this tendency was apparently observed in the plots of D (Dorogen, also, one of commercial conditioners), P (perlite), L (Soiluck) and SPL. 5. Leaf and stem resistance of erect stems to breaking in the plots of PM (perlite+peat moss), L and D were greater than those of other plots.
