Description

type:text

1) Two tentorial meningiomas showing marginal tentorial branch so-called Bernasconi Cassinari's artery were reported. 2) In the most case of non-space-taking lesion, marginal tentorial branch usually was difficult to visualized by common carotid angiogram because of the smallness of its caliber. If they visualized, its length varies from 5 to 35mm and no one shows over 40mm. The angle between its course and the orbito-meatal line had a tendency to decrease its angle as the age advanced. 3) The apparent visualization of this vessel indicated the site and rich vascularization of the tentorial lesion (e. g. tumor, arteriovenous malformation, etc.). The marginal tentorial branch with tentorial lesion was undulated immediately after its branching from the cavernous portion of the internal carotid artery, showing a rosary appearance courses backward and upward following the free edge of the tentorium. We devided the course 3 portions, accordion portion, straight portion and ascending portion. Its whole length was more than 40mm.
