Abstract

This study outlines a public program for elementary school students to experimentally learn about the eruption process of volcanoes using the internet communication service, Zoom. I sent the kit of experiments for each participant before the learning class, and on the day of the public program of volcanological class, I performed the experimental class to study the volcanic process using the internet communication service. The post-program investigation revealed that, although the program was not delivered face-to-face, participants were able to easily conduct the experiment, which piqued their interest. On the contrary, the questionary investigation also shows that participant needs a handout to explain the procedure and mechanism of the experiment to review the program and to plan the new experiment. The report presented by this study contributes in developing the online experimental program.
