リングトポロジーの種類は大きく分けてトークン・リング型とスロット・リング型に分類される。本稿では、トークン・リング型のネットワークに焦点を当て、送信バッファの振る舞いについて、コンピュータ・シミュレーションより得られたデータに基づき解析を行う。その際、パケット伝送制御方式として、制限方式、ゲート方式および全処理方式（ＥＸ方式）を導入する。伝送路のトラヒック密度に応じて動作する制御スイッチの考え方がネットワークにおけるトラヒック輻輳を解決する手段となり得ることについても論述する。@@@There are broadly two categories of ring topology, namely the token ring network and slotted ring network. In this manuscript, we focus our attension on the behavior of the transmission buffer of the token ring network and reports the results of the analysis which has been carried out based upon the data obtained by computer simulation. We have introduced three types of packet transmission control method such as the confined, the gated and the exhaustive type, respectively. We will suggest that the idea of on-off switch, converted alternatively depending on the traffic density p of the transmission line, will be effective tactics to solve the traffic congestion in the network.
