今日、親の教育力の低下が指摘されている。その教育力の低下は、親の養育主体としての成熟しづらさと子育ての共同性喪失にあるのではないかと認識され、日本、中国では、親教育による親性の形成が強調されるようになった。本稿では、中国における「隔世育児」を中心に、都市部に住む3人の女性に対する聞き取り調査を通して、祖父母世代から親世帯への伝承は、親になるという心性や素質を形成するうえで、どのような影響を与えているのかを明らかにした。

Today, it is widely acknowledged that the educational ability of parents is declining. This decline in the educational ability of parents is largely attributed to their difficulty in maturing as nurturers and the loss of communality in child rearing, which has led to an emphasis on cultivating parenthood through parental education in Japan and China. In this paper, I focus on “biennial child rearing" in China, and through interviews with three women living in urban areas, I clarify how the transmission from the grandparent generation to the parental household has an impact on the formation of the mentality and predisposition to become a parent. From the interviews, two facts of inheritance were clarified. One is that folklore about pregnancy and childbirth has promoted the formation of a deep understanding that parents and children are bound together by a common destiny. The other is that inheritance has helped parents to establish their views on children and child-rearing.
