1998年2月より京都大学総合情報メディアセンターでは京都大学吉田キャンパス内各所に分散配置された778台のWindows NT4.0と389台のHP-UX 10.20によるシステムを管理・運用している.このシステムのうち,特にWindows NTによる大規模分散システムの運用をする事により得られた事項について挙げる.また教育環境にWindows NTを導入する際に考慮すべきの特殊な事情についても実例を含めて紹介する.その上で教育環境にWindows NTによるシステムの構成法についても述べる.
