Description

Among the Yukaku that were established by the political motication in the early Edo period, the Nagasaki Maruyama Yukaku, where historical materials can be confirmed and the architectural changes with the times can be grasped, is targeted. To clarify its characteristics, we will also look at Hakata Yanagimachi Yukaku as a comparison target. From the Edo to Meiji period, the architecture of the Maruyama Yukaku was mainly in the form of a gabled roof on the second floor. In ddition, the Yanagimachi Yukaku in the Edo period was a uniform architectural design. In the Meiji era, high-rise buildings were seen in Maruyama and Yanagimachi, and the spatial structure changed.
