Background : Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a psychiatric disorder with a high mortality rate, and low body mass index (BMI), one of features of AN, is a poor prognostic factor. Treatment dropout is common in AN. Treatment dropout is related to the AN binge-eating/purging subtype, low BMI, and age. The relationship between a history of obesity or family involvement and treatment dropout is unknown.
