University-High School Cooperation Program is a program in which high school students participate in university lectures and practicums for the sake of gaining some idea what learning at university is like. For the effective implementation of this program, our department made five points to note. The first policy is to have students use facilities which are not available in high schools and realize different ways of thinking. The second one is to have them understand the basics of civil engineering.The third is to introduce them to various experiments and trainings proper to the field of engineering. The fourth is to have them experience what HIT students are actually doing. The fifth is to help them write a report they need to submit to their high school for credit after they return. The questionnaire conducted at the end of the program shows that the participants understood these points well and had a meaningful time
