Abstract
We propose that an architectural room floor planning support system combined Interactive Evolutionary Computing (IEC) and Evolutionary Multi-objective Optimization (EMO), examine and evaluate its combination. Spatial planning optimization problems require dealing with multiobjective because of their many requirements or conditions. In addition, the system should also deal with qualitative factors because spatial planners make plans on their experience, skill or aesthetic sense. We construct the planning support system has a spatial generate part consists of spatial generating algorithm and growth rules, and an optimization part combined EMO with IEC for the requirements, then we discuss usability of the system to support architectural room floor planning. We set a room floor plan of a condominium as a subject for the experiment. This paper shows user evaluations with IEC around early generation make fine plans easy to get.
