Abstract
In this study, 1,6-hexanediol(HD)and isosorbide(ISB), which is a biomass raw material, were used as glycols in the production of polycarbonate diol(PCD). Polyurethane(PU)resin obtained from these polyols was employed as the skin layer of synthetic leather to assess its suitability for wrinkle processing and durability. PU resins for synthetic leather adhesives were prepared both with and without a crosslinking agent, and the presence of wrinkles after reheating was confirmed. We observed that wrinkle formation was achievable using PU containing ISB-PCD. Moreover, this PU for wrinkle processing exhibited a yield point at temperatures in the range of 20℃–40℃ and a high glass transition temperature(Tg). Furthermore, their durability fell within a practical range. In contrast, synthetic leather produced by adding a crosslinking agent to the PU resin for adhesives resulted in deep wrinkles that persisted even after reheating following the crosslinking reaction, confirming the long-term durability of the wrinkles.
