By "Liaison" is meant in this article any assimilative change occurring in combined sound in consecutive speech, "Sandhi" in Sanskrit, including the typical linking in French pronunciation. (1) introduction (2) a brief outline of French "Liaison" (3) a similar phenomenon in Japanese- "Renjo" or "Rensei" ("ren" means link, combine; "jo" or "sei", voice) One type of "Renjo" is "Rendaku", the changing of voiceless into voiced sound in linking, "daku (-on)" means voiced (-sound) (4) English r-linking and intrusive r (5) similar phenomena related to "Liaison" proper: n (m)-linking, "intrusive n", "an", etc. (6) conclusion
