The central area of the economic evolution in China moves from the Pearl economic area into the Bohai Economic Rim through the Yangtze economic area. Particularly, the Bohai Economic Rim designated as the third economic engine aims at the center of the global logistics in the northern region of China. This article aims to clarify the main economic characteristics of the three principal cities in the Bohai Economic Rim (Tianjin, Qingdao and Dalian) and to analyses econometrically their relative economic relationship.
