The chemical revolution in the 18th century brought the development of a superior conceptual scheme. The French chemist Lavoisier was playing the leading part on the historical stage of the chemistry. He advanced the new combustion theory and established the concept of the chemical element through the medium of his theory. The general idea of the atom and the element was very important and tantalizing in the chemical education. So, the writer tried to find the solution of this problem from the standpoint of historical approach, utilizing the tactics and strategy of Lavoisier in the chemical education. In this study, the author analyzed the way of the scientific thinking of Lavoisier who overthrew the phlogiston theory, and formed a plan which is shown in Table 3 by considering the learning of the combustion in the chemical revolution. It was suggested that the plan might be useful for understanding the concept of the atom and the element.
