Description

A large amount of radionuclides was discharged into the atmosphere by the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant (FNPP1) accident in Japan. The radionuclides released from the FNPP1 were transferred eastward and deposited on the sea surface. Moreover, water used to cool a damaged nuclear reactor leaked into the ocean. This paper describes the overview of the distribution of radionuclides about the seawater and seabed sediments. The future issues are also described.
