抄録

This paper deals with control process of sexuality in the transition from institutions to community based homes of persons with intellectual disabilities by qualitative research. The result points to the following. At first, it is found that sexual intercourse among residents is not permitted in the transition process from institutional settings to independent living, and in marriage living parenting is not supported by the staff members who work for those residents. There is found a rule regarding sexuality which controls the reproductive freedom by residents based upon staff members' concerns about ability of parenting by residents and difficulties for supporting their parenting. Secondary, it is argued that residents do not have any other choices but obey those rules because they need advice and support about sexual relationship, marriage and parenting from staff members. Nevertheless because they are not provided enough support there were cases found where residents secretly meet each other and are forced to make decisions not to become parents. In order to solve these problems and make the principle of normalization into reality, their sex and reproductive rights should be guaranteed and the social support system need to be established.
