Abstract

P(論文)

Grain compositions of beach sands in Miyagi Prefecture are lithologically examined. Beach sands in the northeastern coastal and Matsushima areas, most of which occur in short pocket or crescent beach, have beenderived mainly from the just surrounding geology. Provenances of sand in long coast of the Sendai Bay areas are estimated to the geology around the middle to lower reaches of major rivers flowing into the bay. Constituents of sand grains have been slightly changed after tsunami disaster of the Tohoku Earthquake (March 11, 2011). Theaim of sand observation as the study material in the school science is to understand the matter cycle in long timeand space.
