Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the love styles of female students and their clothing behavior. The love styles were measured by the Lee's love type scale second version (LETS-2) developed by Matsui et al.. LETS-2 were consisted of 53 rating items to measure each of six love styles; "Mania", "Eros", "Agape", "Storge", "Pragma" and "Ludus". Clothing behavior were measured by the scale constructed by Nagano. The clothing behavior scales were consisted of 20 rating items composing of four subscales; "fashion-consciousness (CB1)", "tendency to think much of function and amenity (CB2)", "interest to appropriateness for social situations (CB3)" and "practicing economy (CB4)". As a result of Chi square analyses, it was found that those who had high scores of "Mania" and "Eros" tended to show high CB1 score and low CB2 score, and high scores of "Pragma" and "Ludus" tended to show high CB2 score. These results suggested that the clothing behavior under the influence of their love styles.
