Description

This paper aims to clarify the dwelling conditions of the south-side entrance design in public housing. As the results, when the room in the unit is adjacent to common space with the south-side entrance, the resident's exchange between inside and outside of the unit has been born at boundary place. Therefore, the south-side entrance design is confirmed that it is effective to promote the exchange though it is important that the rooms with long stay and common space are adjacent as the space. From the viewpoint of public housing for the elderly, it can be said that the south-side entrance design has an effect to restrain them from locking in their units. It is thought that promoting the exchange between residents through the consultation with LSA, in addition to the physical environment, also has a big influence on the evaluation to the living environment.
