In this paper, we proposes the novel voice communication system, we label it as Etherphone. Etherphone is the simple voice communication system. Etherphone converts the analog data into the digital data with A/D converter, then, the digital- data is transmitted with the Ethernet. Etherphone receives the digital data from Ethernet, and converts it into the analog data, then, the analog data is output. Etherphone uses only the physical layer and data link layer protocol of the OSI reference model. Therefore, user does not need to configure the Etherphone, and equipment cost is low. Therefore, Etherphone is the practical system. We make the prototype of Etherphone. And with operation experiment, we verified network bandwidth consumption. As a result Etherphone is simple and convenient compared with IP telephone. Etherphone can be applied to the enclosure telephone and sensor network.
