説明

The two step-tuberculin skin testing (TST) for 284 nursing student of University was done for better understanding of actual distribution of tuberculosis immunity. TST was performed by the method of Mantoux; O.lml of PPD was administered intadermaly and the diameter of skin rush, induration were recorded. 48 hours later, the result of 1st TST revealed positive reaction (diameter more than 10mm) of actual distribution of tuberculous immunity and the diameter of skin rush or induration were recorded. The result of 1st TST revealed positive reaction in 77.7% of all students. 14 students in positively reacted group showed strongly positive reaction, though physical examination and chest x ray film negated the possiblity of active tuberculosis. The 2nd TST which was performed 14 days after 1st challenge showed positive reaction of 59.3% of tested group, resulting that 91.4% of students was having positive immunity to tuberculous bachilli. Thereafter, BCG vaccination was given for 28 students. Interestingly, students having atopic dermatitis had less positive PPD reactions and students who had already experienced nursing exercise at high-school have more positive PPD reactions than others probavely because of contact to patients with undetermined tuberculous infection. Thus, it is warranted to assess the individual tuberculosis immunity of nursing student before graduation of the university.
