Description

Sandplay is generally used as a therapeutic tool, rather than as an assessment tool. On the other hand, therapists get much information about the creator from a sandplay work and they utilize it for psychotherapy. Based on past theoretical and clinical case studies on sandplay therapy, the possibility of using sandplay as a psychological assessment technique was investigated. Results indicated the possibility of using sandplay as a psychological assessment technique and also suggested the need for considering the creators' information and to making interpretations from a commonsense perspective.
