Description

An investigation was carried out on the 54 years old reinforced concrete building, Fukui Prefectural Office. The main results obtained are as follows 1) The depth of alkali-lost in structural concrete was found to be 5.2 cm in the first floor, which is about the twice of the estimated one from the ever presented formula. In the second and the third floor, the value showed 3.6 cm and 1.9 cm respec“ tively. The rust was observed on reinforcing steel surfaces in the co1umns at a half number of cases investigated. 2) The mean value of compressive strength of concrete cores was 240 kg/〓 and the standard deviation was 54 kg/〓. 3) The mixing rpoportion of cement,fine and coarse aggregate was evaluated as 1:1.82-2.07:2.88-5.02 in weight from the result of 700℃ heating followed by hydrochloric acid treatment of the concrete.
